Oroya borchersii
Oroya borchersii is a species of cacti originating from Peru. It is one of the most cold-tolerant South American species. It can easily grow outdoors and is hardy to -15° C or even less. Plants grow to about 20cm across and its body is covered with beautiful golden spines and flowers in Summer. The yellow to greenish yellow flowers are up to 2 cm wide. Mature plants will also produce a small fruits.
Like most cacti, Oroya borchersii thrives in bright, indirect light. It’s best to water moderately during the growing season and allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Using a well-draining soil mix specifically formulated for succulents or cacti will help the plant dry out quick enough to prevent any rotting.
Each living plant is unique and may vary slightly in size, colour, or shape depending on the season. Flowering plants are sent when available.
(You will receive a bare rooted plant similar to the ones in the pictures provided.)
