Melocactus matanzanus NEW
Melocactus matanzanusis a rare and striking barrel shape cactus that rarely is found outside of collectors. It’s also commonly known as ‘Dwarf Turk's cap cactus’ and is native to areas of northern Cuba. The most impressive feature is the Cephalium that grows out the top as it matures and it’s amazing blue colour. It produces beautiful pink flowers when in bloom however this doesn’t occur however until the plant does develop the Cephalium.
Like most cacti, melocactus matanzanus thrives in bright, indirect light. It’s best to water moderately during the growing season and allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Using a well-draining soil mix specifically formulated for succulents or cacti will help the plant dry out quick enough to prevent any rotting.
Each living plant is unique and may vary slightly in size, colour, or shape depending on the season. Flowering plants are sent when available.
(you will receive a bare rooted plant similar to the ones in the pictures provided.)
