Phlegmariurus Phlegmarioides Fiji Layered Tassel Fern is an exotic plant sure to spark some interest. The fronds on this plant have a unique texture annd are dark green and glossy.
These ferns are epiphytes/lithophytes meaning they establish aerial roots that absorb moisture from the humid air, allowing them to develop on other plants without harming their hosts. Tassel Ferns grown in a pot require a course potting mix generally consisting of chunky bark, perlite, and/or coir chips. It’s best to not let these plants sit on a tray of water as they can rot quite easily. It’s best to water when almost completely dry and fertilise regularly to encourage rigorous growth.
