Pachycereus schottii f. monstrosus, also known as the totem pole cactus is a slow-growing, columnar cactus with a unique appearance. This rare beauty has multiple unusual shaped ribs and knobby, tubercle-like swellings along the trunk. Sometimes this variety will branch at the base in a candelabra-like arrangement.
Like most cacti, Pachycereus Schottii F. Monstrosus thrives in bright, indirect light. It’s best to water moderately during the growing season and allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Using a well-draining soil mix specifically formulated for succulents or cacti will help the plant dry out quick enough to prevent any rotting.
