Thelocactus setispinus, commonly known as miniature barrel cactus or hedgehog cactus is native to the Chihuahuan Desert of Texas and Mexico. The central spines on this species are longer and stronger the body of the spine is straight bUte the tip is curved like a hook giving a unique look. These plants are highly sort after for their stunning, fragrant flowers. In Spring and Summer months they produce large, vibrant yellow flowers with a red centre.

Like most cacti, Thelocactus setispinus thrives in bright, indirect light. It’s best to water moderately during the growing season and allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Using a well-draining soil mix specifically formulated for succulents or cacti will help the plant dry out quick enough to prevent any rotting.

Each living plant is unique and may vary slightly in size, colour, or shape depending on the season. Flowering plants are sent when available.

(You will receive a bare rooted plant similar to the ones in the pictures provided.)
