Monstera sp. 'Peru' (also known as M. karstenianum) is a beautiful climbing plant with unique bullate leaves that will make a great addition to any Monstera lover's collection. In their natural environment these plants use a tree to latch onto and grow so it matures its best to give it a totem or other support structure. As they climb the veined leaves will start to fenestrate (develop holes) as it climbs and becomes more mature.

This monstera like most is a variety that prefers indirect bright light. It grows best in higher humidity levels of around 60%. It is however very hardy and it will also grow in lower humidity well as well. Some browning of the edges of the leaves can also occur when the humidity is too low.

Its best to use a loose, well-draining soil to ensure adequate air-rating of the roots and ensure its not to stay too wet. To ensure over watering does not occur only water when the top two inches of the potting medium is dry.

They propagate from stem cuttings very easily. Just snip below a node, place into water and wait a few weeks then transplant to soil. Or simply put straight into soil and keep soil moist until well rooted.

(You will receive a bare rooted plant, similar to the ones seen in the images. Each living plant is unique and may vary slightly in size, colour or shape.)
