Polaskia chichipe
Polaskia chichipe also known as a Chichipe, Chichibe, Chichituna, or Chichitun is a succulent cactus native to a small area of mountains of northern Oaxaca and southern Puebla, Mexico. This stunner got its name as a tribute to Charles Polaski, an American cactus lover from Oklahoma.
This is a tree-like cactus with a short main stem that branches freely at the top as the plant matures. It produces small yellow to green or light pink coloured flowers in spring and summer months. Mature plants will also produce a red coloured edible fruit.
Like most cacti, Polaskia chichipe thrives in bright, indirect light. It’s best to water moderately during the growing season and allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Using a well-draining soil mix specifically formulated for succulents or cacti will help the plant dry out quick enough to prevent any rotting.
Each living plant is unique and may vary slightly in size, colour, or shape depending on the season. Flowering plants are sent when available.
(You will receive a bare rooted plant similar to the ones in the pictures provided.)
